You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into legally binding contracts to use the Service.
3. Accounts & Security
You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account.
Provide accurate information and keep it updated.
Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use or suspected breach.
4. Permitted Use & Community Standards
Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
Post or share unlawful, harmful, harassing, defamatory, infringing, or misleading content.
Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliations.
Interfere with the Service (e.g., malware, scraping without permission, circumventing security).
Access areas you are not authorized to access.
5. Listings, Stays & Transactions
Room for Friends helps people discover stays within trusted networks. Unless expressly stated, we are not a party to any accommodation agreement between users.
User responsibility: Hosts/guests are responsible for accuracy, availability, house rules, and compliance with laws.
Payments: If enabled, fees/taxes/payment terms will be disclosed at checkout or in your account.
Cancellations/Refunds: Policies appear on listings or at booking time.
Safety: You are responsible for your personal safety and due diligence.
6. Fees & Taxes
We may charge service or processing fees. You are responsible for applicable taxes. Fees/taxes are disclosed before you complete a transaction.
7. Your Content & Our License
You retain ownership of content you submit (“User Content”). By submitting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display it to operate and improve the Service. You represent you have rights to grant this license.
8. Intellectual Property
The Service (text, graphics, logos, software) is owned by or licensed to Room for Friends and protected by intellectual-property laws. Except as permitted, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works.

Links to third-party sites/services are provided for convenience. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content or practices.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROOM FOR FRIENDS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Room for Friends and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
13. Suspension & Termination
We may suspend or terminate access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you violated these Terms or we discontinue the Service.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You consent to exclusive jurisdiction in state or federal courts located in Texas.
We’re building for trusted networks. Here’s how we enhance safety and accountability:
Real-name policy: Users must provide their real name; impersonation is prohibited.
Reporting & flagging: In-product tools allow reporting of listings, messages, or users that violate our rules. We review and act where appropriate.
Optional ID/social verification: Where available, users may opt into ID or social verification to strengthen trust badges.
Disputes: We are not a party to user-to-user agreements. For disputes, we may provide guidance and escalate policy violations, including suspension or removal. Emergencies should be reported to local authorities.
